Michelle started each of Pacific's 21 games, consistently drawing the best offensive player from opposing teams. Down the stretch of the season she helped Pacific hold the opposition to just seven goals in the Tigers' final eight games, allowing the Tigers to win seven of eight contests. Following the NorPac Tournament, Michelle was named to the NorPac All-Tournament Team and the NorPac All-Conference Second Team. Manson also garned the Tigers' Outstanding Defensive Player Award and earned the NorPac Defensive Player of the Week Award on Oct. 19 in 2004.<b>2003 (Freshman):</b>Michelle provided a defensive spark for Pacific in 2003, appearing in 14 games, including 10 starts. Manson and the rest of the Tiger defense held opponents to one goal or less in ten of 16 games, including three shutouts.<b>2002 (Freshman):</b>Manson used her redshirt option during the 2002 season due to a leg injury. Despite not playing, Manson earned Pacific's Coaches Award following the season for her dedication to the team and work ethic during the season.<b>High School:</b>Manson attended La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, Calif., where she and fellow newcomer Dana Walsh led the Mavericks to a 45-5 combined record in her junior and senior seasons. In addition, Manson and Walsh propelled La Costa Canyon HS to three consecutive Palomar League championships. Manson was named to the All-Palomar League First Team as a senior and to the second team for CIF. As a freshman, Manson set the Maverick record for goals scored, then was named Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore, junior and senior. Michelle also participated in the 2001 and 2002 Cal Cup tournaments. In addition to her athletic success, Manson also earned academic honors as a scholar athlete at La Costa Canyon.<b>Personal:</b>Michelle Manson is the daughter of John and Debra Manson. She has one sister, Brittney (23). In her fourth year at Pacific, Michelle is a business marketing major.<b>MacDonald on Manson:</b>"Michelle took her game to another level in 2004; she is one of the best defenders in the conference. She will be the spearhead of our defense this season and is constantly working to improve her game offensively as well as defensively."
